Frequently asked
What is a Sankalp?+
A Sankalp (संकल्प) is a resolve or vow. In the app it's a time-boxed commitment with a start and end date that holds your habits. When the period ends, the Sankalp automatically completes — so you're committing to a finish line, not an endless streak.
How do habit alarms work?+
Add a start time to a habit and turn on the alarm. Sankalpy uses Apple's native AlarmKit to ring at that time — full-screen when your phone is locked, themed to your palette. You'll be asked to allow alarms the first time you enable one.
How does app & website blocking work?+
For a timed habit, turn on blocking and pick the apps and websites to shield using Apple's Screen Time picker. They're blocked for the habit's window and unblock automatically when it ends. You can edit the selection or turn it off at any time and the change applies instantly. Your selection stays entirely on your device.
Why doesn't blocking or alarms work?+
Both rely on iOS permissions. Open iOS Settings → Screen Time and Settings → Sankalpy to confirm the relevant permissions are granted. App blocking requires Screen Time to be enabled on the device.
Can I change the theme and app icon?+
Yes. Sankalpy ships with 30+ palettes (Nord, Dracula, Tokyo Night, Catppuccin and more), light/dark modes, and alternate app icons — all in Settings. Your choice is saved to your account and follows you across devices.
Do I need an account?+
No. Sankalpy signs you in anonymously, so there's nothing to set up — no email or password. Your data syncs to that anonymous account automatically.
How do I delete my data?+
You can remove your content from within the app. To delete all data associated with your account, email us and we'll take care of it.
